Is Queens, New York a safe place to move to?

https://educationisaround.com states that New York is the most populous city in the United States, with over 8 million inhabitants. It is home to a racially diverse population and a rich blend of cultures, resembling a micro-earth. It has rich tourist attractions such as the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge, Metropolitan Museum of Art, etc.

New York has five boroughs – Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, and State Island. Queens is the largest and has a population that speaks over 138 languages! With so much diversity and New York’s high crime rate, one will naturally assume that Queens is not a safe place to live in. On the contrary, Queens Today is the safest of the five boroughs, safer than 40% of U.S cities. Many of the safest neighborhoods in NYC are all located in Queens.

Perhaps it is time to rethink the typical stereotype of Queens been an unsafe place to stay says Hannah from Naturalhealthscam.com. With a population of 2.2 million covering over 280 km square miles, it is the safest county in NYC. Residents can engage in their daily activities without fear of criminals ruling the county. While it is generally safe, some gray areas in the borough have a high crime rate record according to https://geteducationskills.com.

Safest Neighborhoods to Stay in Queens

  1. Forest Hills – The neighborhood is commonly viewed as one of the safest in Queens. The crime rate here is low, with regular police patrol in the area contributing to it. As a testament to its safety, it is one of the fastest-growing neighborhoods in terms of population. Forest Hills is home to some great schools and parks. You can play golf, ride horses, and other fun activities in Forest Park during weekends or the holidays.
  2. Jackson Heights – Anyone who stayed in this neighborhood in the 20th century when criminal activities thrived in the area will argue with the stats naming it one of the safest in Queens. Jackson Heights was so notorious it held the title ‘the cocaine capital’ of New York says Petre from https://petrefine.com/.

Today, it is one of the safest in Queens. From the end of the 20th century, the crime rate drastically fell in the area. The number of violent crimes also nosedived. One can live in the neighborhood without fear of drug pushers and criminals, constituting a nuisance.

  1. Long Island City – Do not let the city confuse you; it is a neighborhood located in Queens. It is a commercial and residential area. The regular police patrons have worked wonders for the area, decreasing the crime rate by more than 80 years from the height it was two decades ago. Apart from its safe environment, the neighborhood has a vibrant art culture. Lovers of arts will enjoy a move to the area. The community is active and friendly says Jimmy from https://theeducationlife.com/.
  2. Astoria – The neighborhood is a safe place to stay, with a crime rate equal to the city’s average. Many young people are living in the area, due to its close distance to the city. By subway, it is a 20 minutes ride to Manhattan. Astoria has a thriving nightlife where you can catch fun without undue fear of street crimes, thanks to the NYPD’s street patrols in the area. Astoria Park is a beautiful place to enjoy memorable moments with friends and families.
  3. Sunnyside – Sunnyside is a small neighborhood that is a handy residential area for people working in Manhattan and do not want to stay too far away from their workplace. From Sunnyside, you can spot the towering Empire State Building. It is a safe neighborhood with lots of reasonable accommodations available.
  4. Kew Gardens – It is a cheaper alternative to Forest Hills. Kew Gardens is one of the seven garden communities in the borough. It has a unique triangular shape, which, added to its lovely gardens, makes it a visually appealing place to live. The crime rate in Kew Gardens is low and receives regular patrols from NYPD according to https://whizzherald.com/.
  5. Bayside – The neighborhood is one of the cheapest places to live in queens, thanks to its affordable housing and low tax on properties according to Restumping Melbourne. It is a lovely place to stay for families on a budget, as some of the best public schools in Queens are in the area. The only drawback is the dense population in the area. Surprisingly, the neighborhood is one of the safest in Queens with a strong security presence. Bayside has the lowest violent crime rate per capita in New York.

Why Queens is a safe place to move to?

“Queens is home to a large number of safe neighborhoods where people can go about their normal activities” says Steven from Airbnb Management. The strong police patrols in the area contribute to the low crime rates. Queens has a thriving community with lots of amenities, such as parks and public schools. “Queens somehow reminds us of Australia” says Medical Negligence Lawyers.

Standing Armies And Targets — T.F. STERN

Standing Armies And Targets — T.F. STERN

At what point do you come to the realization that perhaps society isn’t worth saving?  That’s an interesting thought to enter your mind at four in the morning.

I’m not saying we should bring down the flood waters and wipe out the human race or anything quite so radical; just wondering how depraved our thoughts have become in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

A couple of recent news items spurred the idea, when is a society not worth saving?

An article on Infowars.com by Paul Joseph Watson brought up a rather unsettling issue; there’s a company producing and selling targets for law enforcement use, or, I suppose, anyone else, depicting what they call “non traditional threats”.

“The targets include “pregnant woman threat,” “older man with a shotgun,” “older man in home with a shotgun,” “older woman with a gun,” “young school aged girl,” “young mother on playground,” and “little boy with real gun.”

Why are top training target suppliers for the government supplying the likes of the DHS with “non-traditional threat” targets of children, pregnant women, mothers in playgrounds, and elderly American gun owners unless there is a demand for such items?”

Let that settle in for a moment; what kind of sick mind comes up with a product like that?  Maybe it’s the natural progression, a downward spiral of perversion, the result of years of video games depicting human forms being destroyed by a variety of weapons.

“Law enforcement officers train for the ‘what if scenarios’; robbers, burglars or just ‘bad guys’ in general,” says Chris Stoy from warriorsforjustice.com (visit website).

While it is possible to run up against other situations where extreme violence must be confronted, why train police officers or DHS goons, (is that a derogatory assessment?) to shoot a pregnant lady holding a gun, an old man with a shotgun inside his house or a young mother on a playground?  What does it say about the mindset of an entire police department that trains for such an event…trains for it as if it were a common every day event rather than the exception which might happen once in a ‘blue moon’.

There’s something wrong, seriously wrong here.  If we start to desensitize law enforcement officers, have them disregard humanity, to feel nothing’s wrong in shooting a pregnant lady or an old man with a shotgun inside his own home…then what kind of society have we become?  How will police officers react after they no longer believe they are part of the society which they have been charged with policing when they have become used to shooting pregnant ladies and old men?

Police train to take out ‘bad guys’, thugs with a two-day beard holding a shotgun; not a pregnant lady in the nursery because the idea is to protect the pregnant lady in the nursery from the thugs holding a shotgun.

Odd as it may sound coming from an old retired cop, if police recognition skills, the red flags that alert to danger were delayed for a moment, so be it; I’d rather get shot than develop the attitude that all or even most of my neighbors were a constant threat.

xAt the risk of being politically incorrect, America isn’t a third world hell hole, at least not yet, like the Middle East where female suicide bombers hide explosives under a burqa, walk into a crowded shopping area and detonate themselves in the name of Alla. Heaven forbid anyone points this out for fear CAIR might lodge a complaint about having been singled out; never mind that it’s true.

Police officers are a part of the community they protect and serve. If it ever comes to the point where police officers become detached from their communities, at that point they have become a standing army instead of your friendly neighborhood cops. The transition from the police department to standing army is happening all across America’s fruited plains, a little at a time mind you; but it is happening.

You’ll see this in very subtle ways. The old blue and white patrol cars are being replaced with a universal black and white paint scheme; why is that? The answer is more subliminal than anything; black and white vehicles appear to be more formidable and command attention.

Some police departments are changing the uniforms police officers wear. The trend is to have them look more military. Black fatigue type uniforms are taking the place of traditional blue-toned police shirts and trousers; why is that? Instead of polished footwear, many officers have opted for combat styled boots. Call me old fashioned, I’d rather reminisce about a more gentle time, a time when Norman Rockwell painted a picture of a cop sitting at a drug store counter next to a little boy.

In case you missed it, this past September FEMA graduated its first class of cadets, not sure what you should call them; but FEMA Corp is how they are classified. This is a national police force, a standing army by definition, a standing army that reports to the president and has powers that go beyond even local police departments; I find that disturbing on many levels.

“Add to your concerns, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and FEMA both purchase the ‘non-traditional targets’ to train with” – says Thiago Alvarez from ACAL

Never mind that our government has been accumulating vast quantities of ammunition for DHS, FEMA and the IRS; hollow point 40 caliber bullets are for target practice only, and you believe that too. Be concerned, be very concerned (Yoda would have said, “Be afraid, be very afraid”; but this is reality, not a Star Wars film you can walk away from.)

When you start putting all these little transitory moves together the opportunity to travel down the road toward totalitarian tyranny becomes more than possible; it becomes inevitable. Our founding fathers wagged a war for independence from the King, in part to protest a ‘standing army’ imposed on the citizenry to keep them in line. At what point should we in our day draw a line in the sand and say, “Enough, we’ve had enough”?

Liberal Ethics and Morals

Liberal Ethics and Morals

Ethics and norms are attitudes and values that is practiced by the individual which is either inspired by his upbringing or his exposure towards things in the society that he or she is living.

When it comes to liberalists, they ask these two questions to themselves. They are how to make the most of your life on earth? And the second question is how to achieve maximum happiness in your life?

In this article, we see in detail about liberal ethics and morals.

Your life is more important

The value of your life is more important than anything else. The way you consider yourself is what decides everything about you that also includes your moral values. The reason and the bitter truth is that your life is all you have and it cannot be replaced by anything else. The first choice that human beings have to make in this world is either to live or die. To live and survive there is no other option but to think and act, which is not possible by plants or animals.

A choice is a must

Your actions are the ones that define who you are, and it is what that designs your entire life. It is mandatory to make proper choices to live your life to the fullest. This is what liberal ethics tries to tell you. Your life is the first priority more than anything else in the world which is then followed by the values.

If you want to preserve your values, it is mandatory that you should have rational thinking. It also includes the evaluation of facts that you have at that particular point of time.

Virtues

There no doubt about the fact that the main and the important tool for survival in the virtues. Some of the important virtues are as follows. They are:

Independence

Independence refers to the space to think, make assessments and take decisions based o the assessments. Whether the decision is right or wrong is secondary. It is a good thing to learn from others. But at the same time, it is important to know that whatever you are learning is the right thing.

Integrity

Integrity refers to your stands in your own opinions. It might be right, it might be wrong, and it might be even unpopular. But if you think that you are a person with integrity, then you should distance yourself from all the temptations and distractions which might have a negative impact on your ideologies and convictions.

Honesty

There is no special explanation that required for honesty. It is one of the qualities that is lagging a lot today. It is important to stick on to the facts that are true rather than being the one among the crowd that believes in something based on the assumptions.

Justice

Justice refers to treating the people in the right way that they need to be treated. If someone treats you properly treat them well if it is the other way around then stop any kind of interaction with the particular person who is not treating you properly.
