ACLJ Will Defend Arizona Immigration Law

Liberty Alerts, ACLJ

It’s a disturbing that the U.S. Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit challenging the new immigration law in Arizona.  This latest attempt to stop Arizona’s law by the DOJ is flawed and represents nothing more than a waste of taxpayer funds.

It’s troubling that the federal government, which has repeatedly failed to secure our nation’s borders, is now attempting to punish the state of Arizona for doing just that.

Instead of spending taxpayer funds to challenge Arizona’s constitutional right to protect its borders and its citizens, the Obama Administration should secure Arizona’s borders and the borders of other states.

Arizona clearly has the constitutional authority to protect and defend its borders.  We believe that Arizona’s new immigration law is both sound and constitutional.

With respect to the DOJ federal lawsuit challenging the Arizona law, we will be filing an amicus brief in support of the Arizona law representing thousands of U.S. citizens and members of Congress.  You can add your name to our Committee to Defend Arizona’s Borders.  Add your name now.

As you know, we’re also planning to file an amicus brief supporting the Arizona law in a legal challenge by the ACLU.  And, we will file an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in support of a 2007 law enacted by Arizona – a case that will be heard next term by the high court.

  • Bill Blasi

Was wondering are there any groups or action committees in the US who are trying to ensure that more judges like the Arizona Fed District Court Judge will not be appointed to the federal bench?

Bill: Well, there are plenty of groups fighting to keep out bad judges, but the problem is that its the President’s choice. One man’s choice, in other words, with the consent of the Senate. There are a number of things that must be done. A. elect more conservative presidents. B. elect more conservative Senators. C. Do our part in raising the level of morality and Constitutional knowledge in our families and communities. D. Get Congress to exercise their Constitutional authority to limit the jurisdiction of the Federal courts. E. Get all state, county, and local governments to stop taking federal monies and thus participating in federal programs, which will facilitate a stronger feeling of state rights and local governmental rights, which in turn will raise the level of protection against centralized power. F. Insure that we as individuals and or as businesses do not participate in any federal handouts, which will in turn make for stronger more independent citizens throughout the land who will in turn be more inclined to stand up and resist all forms of federal tyranny. G. Get the states to dry up all welfare and other handouts to illegals … that will cut the population down dramatically. etc. As far as conservative organizations go, the top of my list is the John Birch Society (http://jbs.org), and next best, EagleForum (eagleforum.org).
