Liberty Letters Quote of the Day, John Adams
Liberty, that has been compelled to skulk about in Corners of the Earth, and been everlastingly persecuted by the great, the rich, the noble, the reverend, the proud, the lazy, the ambitious, avaricious, and revengeful, who have from the beginning constituted almost all of the sons of Adam. Liberty, that complication of real honor, piety, virtue, dignity, and glory, which has never been enjoyed, in its full perfection, by more than ten or twelve millions of men at any time, since the Creation, will reign in America, over hundreds and thousands of millions at a time.

We encourage our writers & readers to focus their comments on principles & issues (pro and con) rather than on personal character attacks or party against party politics; and to point to solutions where possible. Ugly, emotional comments (especially profanity) are discouraged, will be edited or removed, and may lead to the permanent removal of its author from our community of friends. As a private enterprise we claim the right of offering something unique in politics. Please help us keep it that way. If you feel any writer or community member is consistently violating this standard, please let me know. --
