Federalist 58 by James Madison. 1. Under the proposed Constitution whose interests were represented by the U.S. Senate? Is it so today? If not, how might it be remedied & by what means? 2. How did the Constitution provide for updating representation in Congress? 3. Madison credits the U.S Constitution with assigning the greatest power, that of the “purse strings” to the U.S. House. In your opinion, how might the House assert that power to reduce the size & cost of government today? 4. Explain in your own words Madison’s warning against too many men serving in the House. How might his warning be applied today as calls abound for a more direct democracy & for scrapping the electoral college system? 5. Is democracy the form of government our Founders gave us or was it a republican form? Explain the difference.

Attend “Nullify Now!”

Liberty Alerts, Freedom Campaign

As we announced about a month ago, The John Birch Society and The New American are partnering with the Tenth Amendment Center on its “Nullify Now!” campaign.

“Nullify Now!” is a multi-city event tour focused on education and activism on a state level to nullify unconstitutional laws. Thomas Woods, author of “Nullification: How to Resist Federal Tyranny in the 21st Century,” will headline each of the events, beginning at Fort Worth, TX on Sept. 4 and stopping at Orlando, FL Oct. 10, Chattanooga, TN Oct. 23, and Phoenix, AZ Jan. 22.

Now through the end of this week, anyone wanting to attend can purchase tickets for 50% off ($8.99). This offer is limited to the first 200 respondents, so purchase today! Ignore the July 31st deadline as it has been extended through the end of this week. Click here for the full story.

And we previously mentioned that we are working with Tom DeWeese of the American Policy Center for next week’s Freedom Action National Conference. We’ll have two speakers there, as well as a small booth. Online registration closes this Thursday with rates as low as $100. With more than 20 speakers, including Thomas Woods, Larry Pratt, Sheriff Mack, William Jasper and Larry Greenley, the conference promises to be the premiere event for liberty loving individuals to network and learn from expert speakers. Hope you can attend!
