Overcoming The Natural Man

American Scripture

An angel appears to King Benjamin and instructs him what to teach his people. The angel told him to say that the natural, or fallen, man is an enemy to God. By yielding to the Spirit and becoming like a child, we can overcome the natural man. Here is how it is written in the Book of Mormon:

For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father.

Good advice. Listen to the Spirit and be more submissive, patient, and full of love, even when you may be tempted to argue with or rebel against family members or others.
