Federalist 58 by James Madison. 1. Under the proposed Constitution whose interests were represented by the U.S. Senate? Is it so today? If not, how might it be remedied & by what means? 2. How did the Constitution provide for updating representation in Congress? 3. Madison credits the U.S Constitution with assigning the greatest power, that of the “purse strings” to the U.S. House. In your opinion, how might the House assert that power to reduce the size & cost of government today? 4. Explain in your own words Madison’s warning against too many men serving in the House. How might his warning be applied today as calls abound for a more direct democracy & for scrapping the electoral college system? 5. Is democracy the form of government our Founders gave us or was it a republican form? Explain the difference.

U.S. prepared for terrorist attack on anniversary of OBL killing

The late terrorist leader Osama bin Laden, now set up as a martyr by terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda, Al-Shabbab, Boko Haram and others.

BY JIM KOURI

As the anniversary of the killing of Osama bin Laden on May 1 (May 2 Pakistan time) approaches, the White House Press Secretary stated Thursday that President Barack Obama was apprised of potential threats against the United States, its cities and its overseas interests.

While no solid indications that the terrorist group al-Qaeda or its allies, such as Al-Shabbab, Boko Haram, and others, are plotting operations of revenge, counterterrorism experts have voiced their concerns and believe “it’s better to be safe than sorry.”

Bin Laden’s death in 2011 at the hands of U.S. Navy SEALs is being used as proof-positive that the Obama administration is serious about fighting terrorism, in spite of claims that President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and others in the administration coddle Islamic extremists and embrace a politically correct approach to dealing with radical Islamic groups and individuals.

Obama and his minions claim the bin Laden search and destroy mission is his top accomplishment during an otherwise lackluster three years in the White House,” said former intelligence agent and police detective Michael Snopes.

“Truth be told, the operation actually began during the Bush administration and after a lengthy and complex investigation, U.S. Navy SEALs finally located and shot-to-death bin Laden in a raid on the al Qaeda leader’s compound in Pakistan . This was a victory for the United States military, intelligence community and members of law enforcement agencies charged with detecting terrorists and terrorist groups,” Snopes stated.

The bin Laden mission benefited greatly from Bush administration interrogation policies, when counterterrorism officials gathered the initial information that ultimately led to bin Laden’s death, according to The Telegraph.

Obama reviewed the “threat picture as we head into the anniversary of the bin Laden takedown,” Carney told reporters at the White House, emphasizing that the risk of revenge action by al Qaeda remains a reality.

Carney said it was legitimate to discuss bin Laden in the context of the president’s record as he seeks re-election.

“Al Qaeda, led by Osama bin Laden, launched attacks against this country that took thousands of lives … So it is a part of his foreign policy record, obviously, but it is also part of a very serious endeavor to keep our country safe,” he said.

However, Carney was not questioned by the White House press corps regarding the latest the Federal Bureau of Investigation revision of its counterterrorism training program that will remove all references to Muslims and Arab-Americas that are said to be offensive to civil-rights groups such as the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the American Civil Liberties Group (ACLU), a federal law enforcement source told the Law Enforcement Examiner last week.

According to the anonymous source, Senator Dick Durbin, an Illinois Democrat, has pushed for this far-reaching change as well as other fellow Democrats who are allegedly kowtowing to the large Muslim population in their states.

The FBI boasted to the U.S. Congress that it’s academy in Quantico, Virginia removed all mentions of Islam that are viewed as offensive to Muslims, along with language saying that agents had the ability to suspend the law and impinge on the freedoms of others in the course of investigations.

Not only did Durbin demand that the FBI make the training materials public, he requested the agency hold accountable the individuals responsible for the offensive language and take disciplinary action, according to Accuracy in Media.
