Federalist 58 by James Madison. 1. Under the proposed Constitution whose interests were represented by the U.S. Senate? Is it so today? If not, how might it be remedied & by what means? 2. How did the Constitution provide for updating representation in Congress? 3. Madison credits the U.S Constitution with assigning the greatest power, that of the “purse strings” to the U.S. House. In your opinion, how might the House assert that power to reduce the size & cost of government today? 4. Explain in your own words Madison’s warning against too many men serving in the House. How might his warning be applied today as calls abound for a more direct democracy & for scrapping the electoral college system? 5. Is democracy the form of government our Founders gave us or was it a republican form? Explain the difference.

This Black Does Not Think Bundy is Racist

LLOYD MARCUS, PROUD UNHYPHENATED AMERICAN Pick a card, any card. Racist. Sexist. Homophobic. We all knew it was only a matter of time before Democrats/Liberals played one or more of their Big Three Cards to silence, intimidate and crush opposition to their latest power grab/tyrannical attack on our freedom. With a majority of Americans [...]

What The Ryan/Republican Budget Teaches Us

MARK W. HENDRICKSON When House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan unveiled his latest budget proposal earlier this month, political commentator/consultant Dick Morris warned Republicans against it, arguing that passing it would cause them to lose control of the House of Representatives to Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats in this November’s [...]

Vladimir Putin Caesar and Our Great Geo-political Turning Point

BY SELWYN DUKE We are witnessing, I believe, a turning point in geopolitical history, one future historians may analyze as we have the Roman Empire’s fall. Vladimir Putin is making a move — and it’s not just against Ukraine. It may not be just a move against Eastern Europe. It’s not even, perhaps, just a move against US world [...]

BLM-Bundy Confrontation Ignites new “Sagebrush Rebellion”

BY BOB BARR One of the biggest land grabs in American history occurred in 1976, when President Jimmy Carter signed into a law the “Federal Land Policy and Management Act.” That stroke of the pen transferred hundreds of millions of acres of land, located primarily in the western states, into the control of the federal government. In [...]

Democrats Selectively Invoke the “Rule of Law”

BY CHRISTOPHER G. ADAMO Last week, Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy drew a line in the sand against the federal thugs from the Bureau of Land Management, who rustled his cattle and brought in professional snipers in an effort to bully him into subjugation to their regulations and grazing fees. But the moment word of his plight spread throughout the [...]

Feds Provoke Range War Over Fees And A Turtle

BY BOB BARR Gopherus agassizii is the binomial name given to the desert tortoise, a roughly foot-long creature with a lifespan that can stretch to more than half-a-century. This turtle inhabits the Mojave Desert in America’s great southwest. On paper, the desert tortoise seems an innocuous amphibian; however, it has the curious attribute of [...]

Alan Simpson Embodies Fading RINO “Glory Days”

BY CHRISTOPHER G. ADAMO Outside of his home state of Wyoming, former Senator Alan Simpson is best known as the Republican collaborator in the 1986 “Simpson Mazzoli” amnesty bill that officially sanctioned illegal immigration and opened the floodgates on the nation’s southern border. More recently, he signed on to the empty symbolism of [...]

Patriotic Day Challenged in School

Patriotic Day Challenged in School

BY PHYLLIS SCHLAFLY A high school in Colorado recently tried to prohibit students from wearing patriotic colors. The student council at Fort Collins High School chooses dress-up themes for each day during the school’s so-called “spirit week,” and this year, the council suggested ’Merica Monday, where students could wear red, white, and [...]

Ambivalence About Front-Running

MARK W. HENDRICKSON The cat is out of the bag. A Wall Street elite has found a legal way to print money: Set up the fastest computers closer to the stock exchange than other investing firms’ computers and skim a few pennies off each pending order by buying it a millisecond before the retail buyer does, and then reselling it to fill the buy [...]

Facts and Fallacies About Paycheck Fairness

Facts and Fallacies About Paycheck Fairness

BY PHYLLIS SCHLAFLY Barack Obama and his feminist friends have been trotting out their tiresome slogan that women are paid only 77 cents for every dollar a man earns. Every reputable scholar who has commented has proved this is a notorious falsehood which anyone should be embarrassed to use. U.S. law calls for equal pay for equal work, but [...]
