Federalist 58 by James Madison. 1. Under the proposed Constitution whose interests were represented by the U.S. Senate? Is it so today? If not, how might it be remedied & by what means? 2. How did the Constitution provide for updating representation in Congress? 3. Madison credits the U.S Constitution with assigning the greatest power, that of the “purse strings” to the U.S. House. In your opinion, how might the House assert that power to reduce the size & cost of government today? 4. Explain in your own words Madison’s warning against too many men serving in the House. How might his warning be applied today as calls abound for a more direct democracy & for scrapping the electoral college system? 5. Is democracy the form of government our Founders gave us or was it a republican form? Explain the difference.

Is Lying About Climate Change Okay?

Is Lying About Climate Change Okay?

BY ALAN CARUBA Those of us who have chronicled the global warming hoax, now called “climate change”, know that it is based on decades of lies about carbon dioxide and other “greenhouse gas” with predictions that the Earth will heat up and cause massive problems unless those emissions are drastically reduced by not using coal, oil and [...]

Scaring the World about its Climate

Scaring the World about its Climate

BY ALAN CARUBA Ever since the creation in 1988 of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), it has engaged in the greatest hoax of modern times, releasing reports that predict climate-related catastrophes as if the climate has not been a completely natural and dynamic producer of events that affect our lives. The IPCC was set [...]

Climate alarmists didn’t get all they wanted – but they put us on a very slippery slope By David Rothbard and Craig Rucker The eighteenth Conference of Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (COP-18) has ended. Stop Meeting with the U.N. on Climate Change

AMY PAYNE, HERITAGE FOUNDATION Two days ago, the 18th United Nations conference on climate change wrapped up. As they did at the previous 17 conferences, developing nations demanded that the United States and other developed countries pay them for the climate’s effects. In short, the joke’s on us. And these U.N. conferences are becoming [...]

UNFCCC boss Christiana Figueres’ dreams spell a nightmarish future for Earth’s citizens By Craig Rucker Talk about alignment of the stars!  Barack Obama based his 2008 presidential campaign on the principle of “sharing the wealth.” He won, got reelected and now has, at least in his own mind, a flat-out mandate to extend his vision [...]

Facing a triple threat: Doha, EPA and Congress

They are putting our energy, economy, jobs, living standards, health and welfare at grave risk BY PAUL DRIESSEN Climate alarmists are meeting in Doha, Qatar, to hammer out a new international treaty to replace the Kyoto Protocol that expires this year. The US Environmental Protection Agency is poised to unleash its first wave of carbon [...]

Disabilities Treaty Just Another U.N. Power Grab

Disabilities Treaty Just Another U.N. Power Grab

AMY PAYNE, HERITAGE FOUNDATION International treaties sound like a good idea, especially when they claim to protect vulnerable people. The problem is, America already does more than any other country to ensure equal rights for its people—and the United Nations just wants the power to interfere in American law. The Senate is now considering [...]

The Oceans Are Neither Rising, Nor Turning to Acid

The Oceans Are Neither Rising, Nor Turning to Acid

By Alan Caruba When you consider how deeply in debt the nation is, you might think that scientists from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) would want to avoid wasting taxpayer dollars studying “ocean acidification in the Arctic and what this means for the future survival of marine and terrestrial organisms.” You would be [...]
