Federalist 58 by James Madison. 1. Under the proposed Constitution whose interests were represented by the U.S. Senate? Is it so today? If not, how might it be remedied & by what means? 2. How did the Constitution provide for updating representation in Congress? 3. Madison credits the U.S Constitution with assigning the greatest power, that of the “purse strings” to the U.S. House. In your opinion, how might the House assert that power to reduce the size & cost of government today? 4. Explain in your own words Madison’s warning against too many men serving in the House. How might his warning be applied today as calls abound for a more direct democracy & for scrapping the electoral college system? 5. Is democracy the form of government our Founders gave us or was it a republican form? Explain the difference.

Parental Rights & Common Sense vs. Clever Wording of UN Documents

Parental Rights & Common Sense vs. Clever Wording of UN Documents

BY CAROL SOELBERG Parental Rights is one family "respect" that we rarely have to explain. Common sense clearly attests to the fact stated in our UN Negotiating Guide: "The nurturing, care of a loving mother and father can be the most significant contribution toward building a world of peace. It is primarily the responsibility of the parent to [...]

Life After 40 – Roe v. Wade Reconsidered

BY MELISSA ANDERSON, UNITED FAMILIES INTERNATIONAL This week marks the 40th anniversary of the abortion decision in Roe v. Wade. Forty years ago the Supreme Court decided that taking the life of a preborn infant is a protected right, although found only in the shadows of Constitutional innuendo. Forty years ago this week an unnamed woman was [...]

Religious Freedom Day, Really?

Religious Freedom Day, Really?

BY CAROL SOELBERG Have you ever wondered why the first pillar of respect for United Families International is "to promote laws, political structures, and religious and cultural norms that preserve and protect the family?" Best Gift Under the Tree

Best Gift Under the Tree

BY CAROL SOELBERG As I look out my window of twinkling lights to the house across the street similarly clad, I smile. I remember my good neighbor who would say to me every Christmas, "The best gift under the tree is the family all wrapped up in each other!" And you know, he was absolutely right. There is no greater potential for joy in [...]

Trading Sovereignty for Symbolism—Carol Soelberg

CAROL SOELBERG, UNITED FAMILIES INTERNATIONAL Those who favor turning our sovereignty over to the United Nations system are at it again. This week the U.S. Senate voted on a motion to move the U.N. Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities to the floor for a ratification vote - a vote that will require a two-thirds majority and [...]

What will YOU do to stop the anti-family agenda?

What will YOU do to stop the anti-family agenda?

BY CAROL SOELBER While United Family International (UFI) is a non-partisan organization, we recognized that unless caring, concerned, and committed people involve themselves in the electoral political system of the nation in which they live, the radical, anti-family agenda may prevail. Succeeding in the cultural war is everybody's [...]

Are the kids really going to be alright?—Carol Soelberg

BY CAROL SOELBERG You may not even know who Mark Regnerus is but to United Families International, he is a hero. We have waited almost two weeks to write about the vindication of Mark Regnerus, in the hope that we would be able to report that the major media outlets had given some level of coverage to this story. But still nothing from any [...]
